(AP) - Wake Up Nick won the $100,000 Graduation Stakes for California-bred 2-year-olds by 4 1/4 lengths at Del Mar on Wednesday.Ridden by Mario Gutierrez, Wake Up Nick ran 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:04.49 and paid $3.40, $2.40 and $2.10 as the 3-5 favorite. He improved to 3-0 for trainer Doug O'Neill.

(AP) - Favored Stars Above Me burst through an opening along the rail in mid-stretch and pulled away for a 2 1/4-length victory Wednesday in the $100,000 Coronation Cup at Saratoga Race Course.Trained by Graham Motion, the 3-year-old Australian-bred daughter of Exceed And Excel was making her North American debut in the 5 1/2-furlong race after five previous starts in England.

    SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - Churchill Downs Inc. is finalizing a deal with the operators of the Saratoga Casino and Raceway to manage the upstate New York gambling facility and another in Colorado, the companies announced Wednesday.Churchill Downs and Saratoga Harness Racing Inc. announced they are finalizing a five-year management contract for the Saratoga Springs harness track and video gambling operation and the Saratoga Casino Black Hawk in Black Hawk, Colorado. The deal would require regulatory approval in New York and Colorado.
