    MOSCOW (AP) - Russian walker Stanislav Emelyanov has been stripped of his gold medal from the 20-kilometer walk at the 2010 European championships for irregularities in his biological passport.The IAAF confirmed the decision on Wednesday.The date given for the start of the sanction was July 26, 2010, the day before Emelyanov won his European gold medal, meaning that result became invalid.

    FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) - Germany excluded an amputee long jumper from its team for the European Athletics Championships on Wednesday, saying the athlete's carbon-fiber prosthesis gives him an unfair advantage.Paralympic champion Markus Rehm won the long jump at the German nationals last weekend with an effort of 8.24 meters (27 feet, 1/2 inch). As German champion, that would normally qualify him for the Aug. 12-17 Euros in Zurich.
